Ohio State Football: Three bold predictions for OSU vs. Oregon
By Alex Austin
Ohio State forces two interceptions while throwing just one of their own
Ohio State and Oregon are both schools that are used to winning. Both schools have been in the College Football Playoffs, and while the Ducks may have dropped off a little bit, they still continually compete in the Pac-12. As such, both schools are used to winning the turnover margin. Turnovers often equate to the winner, as it is hard to win a game if you keep giving the ball to your opponent.
The Buckeyes are going to get the turnover edge in this game. I see this game being fairly close throughout the first half, when Ohio State takes a two-score lead though, the Ducks will try to throw the ball a little more and that will lead to a few forced passes. The Buckeyes will overcome Stroud’s early interception by getting a pair of turnovers themselves.
I think Ohio State gets Sevyn Banks and Cameron Brown back for this game which will make the difference in the Buckeyes playing tight enough defense to force some bad throws. Banks and Brown both end up with a pick in their return to the football field.
This is something that the Buckeyes focused a lot on in the Summer. They wanted to create more turnovers to get their offense on the field more often. I think that comes to fruition in this game with Anthony Brown struggling a bit.
The next bold prediction has to deal with the defensive line.
