C.J. Stroud Will Remain the Starter

The week one matchup proved that C.J. Stroud would remain the starting quarterback for the Ohio State Buckeyes for the remainder of this season. Stroud had a rough first half. He finished the half completing only 13 of his 22 passing attempts and also throwing an interception.

By keeping him in through the second half proves that Stroud has the trust of this coaching staff and they will be sticking behind him. This is a decision that would pay off very well for the Buckeyes. In the second half, Stroud totaled about 256 yards and four touchdowns in the second half.

The first half featured a lot of handoffs and check-down routes that did not result in many yards. However, once the offense was able to open up and spread out the field, Stroud began to look like the five-star prospect that the Buckeyes recruited.

This was a very promising start from the young quarterback that could have very well gone the other way for the Buckeyes if Stroud did not live up to the moment of his first career start.

He will be put to the test once again when the Ohio State Buckeyes face off against the Oregon Ducks.
