The most important position is the most important battle

The quarterback is considered the most important player on the field. They do not have to be the best player, but a bad quarterback will do more to tank an offense than anything else (just ask Michigan how the last decade has gone).

Ohio State has had the privilege of going through perhaps the best run of quarterbacks the school has seen. J.T. Barrett, (playoff) Cardale Jones, Dewayne Haskins, and Justin Fields have spoiled Buckeye Nation for a long time. Now, the reigns are going to be handed over to a new man.

A lot has been said about the current battle and what the implications mean for the team, but this is the key battle Ryan Day must get right. Selecting the right guy for this year and beyond will help cement Ohio State’s status at the top of the Big Ten and football world and give the Buckeyes a chance to compete for a National Championship every year.

With C.J. Stroud the current favorite (though the others are right on his heels) Ohio State has plenty of talent in the room. This decision will be made pretty early in camp to give the player the most reps possible with the first team. The wait is almost over for the most important decision of the offseason.
