With the new NIL law going into effect today, which Ohio State football player will be able to reap the benefits the most? Who will have the highest-paid endorsement deal?

The Ohio State football program is abuzz today. That’s because the new NIL law comes into effect today that allows players to make money off their name, image, and likeness. Players are letting companies know that their DM’s are open for business if companies want an endorsement deal.

A couple of Buckeyes have already secured deals from companies. Both Ryan Watts and Nicholas Petit-Frere announced deals with separate companies this morning. Many more players are sure to follow in the coming hours and days. Who will secure the biggest endorsement deal though?

Most of these student-athletes probably won’t disclose how much money they are making off a deal publicly. Even so, my guess is that whatever quarterback the Buckeyes eventually choose will get the biggest deal. No one has a bigger face in the program than the starting quarterback.

C.J. Stroud or Kyle McCord stand to make the biggest amount. That is especially true if this team keeps winning all year long. They are the biggest candidates to win the job and so they would be the biggest candidates to make the most money off an NIL deal.

On defense, Zach Harrison has a good chance to make a lot of money. He is a really strong talent and is a local kid too. He has all of the local ties that businesses around Columbus love. Harrison would love nothing more than to have a nice NIL deal a year before heading to the NFL.

This is something that I’m mildly interested in. Now that the floodgates have opened, I want to know how much some of these players can get for a deal. The next few days should be a flood of tweets from players announcing deals with companies everywhere.

If any mega-deals get signed, we’ll let you know for sure. I’m sure you guys are as interested in this as I am.
