Ohio State football ready for another big Draft Day
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football program is used to having plenty of guys drafted every year. 2021 should be no different.
The Ohio State football program has one of the best track records of putting players into the NFL every single year. In fact, no one has more first-round draft picks than the Buckeyes. They truly do a phenomenal job of preparing their players for the next level.
2021 looks to be no different in that regard. While they only have one sure-fire first-round pick in Justin Fields, they have plenty of other guys who will realize their NFL dreams later on in the Draft. The Buckeyes have three or four guys who could go in the second and third round.
Two linebackers should be that group of players. Both Pete Werner and Baron Browning look to be second-round picks, if not borderline first-round guys. Both have unique skillsets and will likely go to teams with different defensive schemes. It’d be shocking if either guy was still available in round three.
Shaun Wade and Josh Myers are looking to be taken somewhere in the third or fourth round. Wade had a down year in 2020 and so his draft stock took a spill. He did perform well enough in Ohio State’s second Pro Day to help himself though.
Tommy Togiai is also someone who is projected to go in that third or fourth-round range. His incredible display of strength certainly helped his stock a little bit. I really think he can be a true impact player in the NFL like he was at Ohio State.
Next week should be a great week for everyone involved in the Ohio State football program. There will be plenty of guys who get to realize their NFL dreams. We will be tracking every pick and let you know where all of the Buckeyes end up.
