The Ohio State football team grabs yet another top receiver, this one in the class of 2022.

The Ohio State football program has done a phenomenal job of recruiting since Ryan Day has been hired as Head Coach. This has been especially true with recruiting wide receivers. Ohio State has grabbed top receivers in every class since Day has been the coach.

That continues today as the Buckeyes have landed a four-star recruit in the class of 2022 at that receiver position. Kyion Grayes, a receiver from Chandler, Arizona, announced his commitment on Twitter on Sunday. This adds another receiver to Brian Hartline’s resumé of recruiting.

Grayes is the second-best receiver in the state of Arizona and the 17th best receiver in the country. He isn’t quite as highly touted as some of the other receivers that the Buckeyes have been able to land, but he is still quite a solid prospect overall.

Grayes has good hands and seems to be able to get open all the time. Those are both key skills that help someone who doesn’t have top-line athleticism, which Grayes does not possess. He can still be an effective receiver as he works on getting stronger and faster.

It’s going to be interesting to see how Grayes fits into Ohio State’s roster. The Buckeyes have a ton of receivers on their roster and will only be losing two after this season is over (assuming Garrett Wilson declares for the Draft). There will be quite a logjam.

Grayes is clearly confident in his abilities and looks to help this program compete at the highest level. With Grayes’ commitment, the Buckeyes now have two receivers in the class of 2022. They also have Caleb Burton, who is the number one receiver in the country.

This is good news as the Buckeyes also wait on an announcement from William Jackson. He will be deciding today whether or not he becomes a Buckeye. Anytime you get a four-star prospect, you’re doing something right.
