The Ohio State football program is hoping to secure a commitment from the top recruit, but they will have to wait a little longer to find out if they will.

The Ohio State football team has a really good recruiting class for 2021. It is the second-best class in the country. It is already the best recruiting class in program history. The Buckeyes are hoping that it can get even better by Signing Day as they look to secure a couple of more recruits.

Ohio State had one of those recruits, Raesjon Davis, visiting campus last week. They are hoping that visit helps secure the linebacker. They are also looking to grab J.T. Tuimoloau, who is the fourth-best player in the country, as well.

Unfortunately, it looks like they will have to wait a little bit longer to see if they secure his commitment. Tuimoloau won’t be making his decision on Signing Day and will be waiting until at least April to make his final decision. This is according to his dad who talked to Brandon Huffman of 247Sports.

While his dad does go to say that they want to visit Ohio State as a family, they also want to visit Alabama for a second time as well. Ohio State is the only university of his final five schools that he has not visited yet. He clearly wants to see what it is like on campus.

While that is all fine and good, it worries me that he is further delaying his commitment. Ohio State is currently the favorite to land him, but this delay allows the other four schools to pull him away. They get more chances to change his mind and make him want to go somewhere else.

Having to wait until April is less than ideal for sure. Ryan Day can’t be happy to hear that. What does work in their favor is the ability to wow him with a visit to campus. Their hope is that visit would be enough to secure his commitment and make him excited about being a Buckeye.

We will have to wait a little bit for his final decision. We’ll see what it ends up being.
