The Ohio State football program had a recruit on campus over the weekend and it seems like he enjoyed his visit.

Ohio State football is the thing that the whole state of Ohio pays attention to the most. It’s not the Browns. Certainly not the Bengals or the Blue Jackets or Cavaliers. Ohio State football is the number one sport not just in Columbus, but the whole state.

Raesjon Davis has learned that is the case this past weekend after visiting campus. The four-star linebacker de-committed from LSU just over a month ago and re-opened his recruitment. Columbus is going to be his last visit before he makes his decision.

Based on Davis’ Instagram story that he posted on Saturday of him riding down the short north, you could tell he was enjoying the visit. The tweet he posted on Sunday as well showed how much fun he had looking at this program.

While this tweet doesn’t guarantee that Davis will be playing for the Buckeyes this Fall, it certainly doesn’t hurt. Based on everything I heard surrounding his visit, it went very well. With this being his final visit, Ohio State was able to make a strong final impression.

Adding Davis would be huge for Ryan Day and company. To add a four-star linebacker this late in the process would be a massive deal. It would add more talent to an already loaded class. It also helps with the depth at the linebacker position.

Davis has been linked to USC since his de-commitment because he is from Southern California. Visiting Ohio State this late though shows that he is just looking for the best overall program to attend. Staying close to home isn’t the most important thing on his mind.

We probably won’t know Davis’ final decision for a little bit. He could decide this week that he wants to commit, or he could wait until Signing Day. The Buckeyes really can’t do much more at this point. They made their best impression and now just have to wait and see if it was enough.
