For whatever reason, people around the Alabama program keep giving every member of the Ohio State football team motivation to crush them.

The Ohio State football program loves to be the underdog. They are 8 point underdogs in the National Championship Game. Not only that, but people around Alabama keep adding fuel to the fire and giving them motivation. First, it was Nick Saban. Then it was his daughter. Now it’s an offensive lineman.

Alabama offensive lineman Alex Leatherwood apparently doesn’t think the Ohio State defense is a tough group of players. According to him in a player availability interview, he thinks Bama is much tougher than the Buckeyes.

Those are fightin’ words, Alex. One of the things you don’t question about a team is their toughness. Especially a team that just beat the number two team in the country by 21 points while they were 7 point underdogs. Ohio State is clearly a tough team.

Ohio State is a bear that you don’t want to poke. The defensive line is actually the strongest point of this team, besides the play of Justin Fields at the quarterback position. It’s also the deepest part of this team. Every defensive lineman is going to want to blow up Leatherwood.

Mac Jones probably isn’t happy to hear this offensive lineman make this comment. It’s going to make his job behind center a lot harder. Ohio State’s best chance on defense is to get pressure on Jones and plug up the middle. That takes effort. Extra motivation helps effort get stronger.

Next. Buckeyes have enough depth to withstand COVID. dark

A lot has already been said this week, and it’s only Wednesday. We can’t wait to see what else happens between now and Monday.
