Ohio State Football: Three undervalued players in the 2021 recruiting class
No. 1: Zen Michalski, OT
Offensive line coach Greg Studrawa has been doing an excellent job on the recruiting trail. Last year he landed a five-star tackle Paris Johnson. This year he got himself a five-star guard in Donovan Jackson who should be the second coming of Wyatt Davis.
Coach Stud wanted to add another big-time tackle when he thought he had five-star tackle JC Latham, but he picked Alabama instead. That left the Buckeyes looking for another offensive tackle in this class.
That led them to four-star Louisville verbal commit Zen Michalski. Michalski had an excellent senior season and put some great tape out there for Buckeye coaches to look at. Ohio State eventually offered the late-rising prospect and the rest is history as he flipped from the Cardinals.
Ohio State has a good track record of taking less heralded recruits and making them solid starting players on the offensive line. The latest example is three-year starting left tackle Thayer Munford.
Look for Michalski to come in, get stronger, learn, and flat out work hard. This could eventually lead him to follow in Munford’s footsteps as an eventual starter among this offensive line.
The Ohio State football program once again has brought in an excellent class. It could get even better in February once Signing Day becomes official.
