Defensive MVP: Tommy Togiai, DT

Tommy Togiai has been another monster in the trenches for Ohio State this season. He and Haskell Garrett have teamed up to be an excellent one-two punch in the middle of the defensive line in 2020.

His three-sack game against Penn State in Week Two set the tone for his season and he’s only been getting better each week.

Togiai is receiving rave reviews from coaches and fellow players alike for his run-stuffing dominance this season. In fact, Togiai has been one of only three Buckeyes to have been graded a champion in every game by his coaches.

The NFL seems like a real possibility for Togiai if he wants to forgo next season.

Offensive MVP: Justin Fields, QB

Well, this was pretty easy, wasn’t it? Fields is the engine that makes Ohio State go as he has been the most dominating player for Ohio State in every game they have played this season. And that includes his performance against Indiana in which he threw three interceptions.

With 1,407 yards passing, 15 touchdowns, and a total QBR of 94.9 on the season, Fields arguably is the best player in all of college football. Unfortunately, only playing five regular-season games will hurt his Heisman chances, but that does not matter to Ohio State.

He has been the best quarterback to suit up at Ohio State since Heisman winner Troy Smith. Ultimately, Ohio State will go as far as Justin Fields takes them as the postseason is set to begin.
