No. 2: Haskell Garrett might be the best defensive player for OSU

The two starting defensive tackles for the Buckeyes have been awesome all season long. Tommy Togiai might be a first-round NFL draft pick coming up in April. But Haskell Garrett’s play this season has been spectacular.

His presence was felt all day long as Michigan State could not get a running game going and Garrett supplied a ton of pressure up the middle any time a Michigan State quarterback dropped back to pass.

But his best play of the day was tipping a Rocky Lombardi pass the end zone back to himself for a defensive touchdown. It was a play that really broke the will of the Spartans in this game as the Buckeyes never looked back.

Garrett had this to say on the score, via cleveland.com:

"“It was very emotional. I was just happy to change the momentum of the game and to light the fire.”"

For all that Garrett has been through this season, including getting shot in the face a few weeks before training camp, this touchdown clearly meant a lot to him.

Not only was he dominant on Saturday but he truly has been all season long as he might just be the defensive MVP for this Ohio State team.
