Ohio State vs. Illinois: Weather report
By Ryan Stano
We know Ohio State has some COVID issues going into their game tomorrow. Will the weather also give them some issues?
Ohio State won’t be at full strength tomorrow when they take on the Fighting Illini at noon in Champaign. Some players will not be available due to testing positive for COVID or being a close contact with someone who has. They can’t afford anything else to not go their way.
Illinois was probably hoping to also get some help from the weather. It seems like every time the Buckeyes play in Champaign, they have a windy day to contend with. That won’t be the case tomorrow afternoon. In fact, there will be perfect weather.
It will be 45 degrees at kickoff and will get up to about 48 over the course of the game. It will also be sunny the entire time with the wind only blowing at about 10 mph. This is not weather that should affect the course of the game in any way. Both teams should be able to throw and run without a problem.
This is a game where the Buckeyes will show just how talented they are. It will be a game where depth will be a big key for this team. Illinois will have to get lucky if they want to compete in this game. Weather will not be something that helps them.
We will obviously keep our eyes out for players who have tested positive, and we won’t know that until tomorrow morning now. At least Ohio State shouldn’t have to deal with the windy conditions that seem to always plague them in the battle for the Illibuck.
