According to multiple reports, Ohio State football has multiple positive tests within their program, leaving the Illinois game this weekend in jeopardy.

Guys, I may have jinxed Buckeye football. Just a day ago, I wrote about how not even COVID could stop this Ohio State football team. Now it looks like it might stop them this weekend, and suddenly the game against Illinois is in major jeopardy.

According to multiple reports, the Buckeyes are dealing with multiple positive tests within their program. Because Ohio State is so tight-lipped about everything, we don’t know who has tested positive for the virus yet. It could be anyone player or any staff member.

The Buckeyes may be without key players for all we know. It could be Justin Fields, Chirs Olave, Garrett Wilson, or Master Teague who have COVID. It could be all four. We just don’t know yet. When we do, we will report it for you and tell you about the fallout.

The good news for the Buckeyes is that if players do have to miss a game because of COVID, missing a game against Illinois isn’t the worst game for them to miss. As long as they stay below the threshold set by the Big Ten, the game will still be played. It looks like that’s the case right now.

Any player would be out for 21 days. It’s unclear when these players would have tested positive. But using that 21-day rule, whatever players test positive would be out for the rest of the season. That means they would miss the game against TTUN on December 12 too.

The good news is, those players would be back for the Big Ten Championship game. That game would presumably be against currently undefeated Northwestern. That is a game that Ohio State needs everyone available for.
