Whether or not Ohio State gets a chance to play in the Fall of 2020, this season will be remembered forever by college football fans.

2020 was supposed to be the year that Ohio State avenged their loss to Clemson. It was supposed to be the year they were able to climb the mountain and win a national championship. They still might. We don’t know. That’s the weirdness that is the year 2020.

The pandemic has changed everything in our world. The sports world is certainly no different. Right now, of the major college football conferences, only three of them are playing. That on its own will be enough for this season to be remembered forever.

Having the Big Ten and the Pac-12 be the two conferences not playing will also go down in history. If the vote stands the way it is today with the Big Ten not playing, it has gone down as the worst decision in college football history. Would it still be viewed that way if all the other conferences eventually cancel too?

This could be remembered as the year that college football was totally canceled. It could be that too many positive COVID tests arise and that universities deem it unsafe to play. There could be no national champion crowned this year, which would be of note as well.

It also could be the year that Ohio State dreamed of. Now that the Big Ten is having a re-vote, they could still fulfill all of their aspirations for this season. It will come down to a vote tomorrow to truly decide the fate of college football in the Midwest in 2020.
