Ohio State Football: J.K. Dobbins finally earning respect
By Alex Austin
J.K. Dobbins became one of the greatest running backs ever to play Ohio State football over the course of his career, but he was still undervalued by many. Dobbins finally is getting the recognition he deserves now.
After becoming one of the best backs ever to play Ohio State football it seems the world is finely recognizing the talents and abilities of J.K. Dobbins.
Dobbins had similar stats to Jonathan Taylor but was largely overlooked as being the best running back in the Big Ten last year. Even though the Buckeye offense was great last year, there was something missing when Dobbins was not able to be on the field, most notably in the semi-final against Clemson.
J.K. Dobbins deserved to be considered the best running back in all of college football but was rarely mentioned in that conversation. He was the fifth running back taken in the 2020 draft and ended up falling to the 55th pick in the draft.
But finally, someone recognizes his talent!
Madden recently released their ratings for the upcoming rookies and J.K. Dobbins leads the way for the running backs with a 75 overall. What makes this rating even more impressive is that this is the third-highest rating Madden put out for offensive players, behind just Joe Burrow and Henry Ruggs III.
J.K. Dobbins showed throughout college he has the speed, strength, agility, and power to be the go-to back in any offensive system. Now that he is pairing with the most dynamic quarterback in the NFL, he could really put up huge numbers.
Even if he ends up sharing carries, expect J.K. Dobbins to completely live up to this rating throughout the year. For those who watched Ohio State football each week, it will be no surprise to see Dobbins end up in the end zone on numerous occasions for the Ravens.
