The Ohio State football team landed another top defensive back recruit on Tuesday and are also back in on the nation’s top overall recruit.

Jantzen Dunn, a four-star athlete who is being recruited to Ohio State as a defensive back, gave his verbal commitment to the Buckeyes on Tuesday afternoon. Dunn held offers from Alabama, Kentucky and Baylor among many others.

In a weird side note to Dunn’s recruitment, he actually committed to the Oklahoma Sooners program last weekend but quickly back tracked after Ohio State coaches put the full court press on for his services, via Lettermen Row.

"“According to Lettermen Row sources, the fact that Ohio State wasn’t pushing for a commitment may have led Dunn and his family to believe that maybe it wasn’t sold on him entirely. That was just not the case. Ohio State cleared that up, and two days later, he committed to the school he wanted to all along.”"

So with Dunn in the fold, Ohio State adds another key piece to it’s No. 1 overall recruiting class in 2021. He is the fourth defensive back commitment, likely meaning that Ohio State and coach Kerry Coombs may only have room for one more defensive back in the class. And now the Buckeyes have the luxury to wait out the nation’s top corner back in Virginia Beach five-star prospect Tony Grimes.

In other recruiting news, the country’s top player, defensive end Korey Foreman decommitted from Clemson on Tuesday. The Corona, California native apparently had issues with not being able to visit other campus’, something Clemson forbids from its verbal commitments.

Foreman did hold an offer from Ohio State prior to his commitment to Clemson last January so  it is very likely that defensive line coach Larry Johnson has already reached out to gauge Foreman’s interest in the Buckeyes.

Next. Joe Burrow stayed loyal to teammates after Ohio State commitment. dark

USC, Oregon and Georgia also were high on Foreman’s list so this opens a huge opportunity for those schools as well. Keep it locked into Scarlet and Game as we see how this recruitment plays out.
