Jean-Baptiste was recruited as an outside linebacker and might need a little more time to refine his game as a defensive end. Despite the development process, Jean-Baptiste took advantage of the snaps he played in 2019.
Jean-Baptiste is simply a defensive force that, regardless of position, when given the chance will hunt the quarterback. In 2020 his chances will only increase and his production will improve.
Although none of these defensive ends have eye-popping career statistics (yet) they were all part of a dominant rotation in 2019. Come 2020 the rotation will continue to move and each player will continue to improve.
At the beginning of the season, keep an eye out for these veterans to rotate in and out in order to create a lethal collection of up-front game-wreckers. Eventually, one will rise above as the player opposing offensive lines have to game plan for.
Fans should be hopeful though as these five edge rushers each have an opportunity to etch their name into history as the next great Buckeye sack master.
