Ohio State Football: Predicting who will earn All-Big Ten Honors
The Ohio State football team always has several players who make the All- Big Ten teams. Here are early predictions on which ones will in 2020.
As we are trying to keep this train moving here at Scarlet and Game, this Buckeye offseason has been non-existent except for some great recruiting news as of late. With that being said, it’s always a great time to look ahead and make some predictions.
Today we focus on the All- Big Ten team. This 2020 Ohio State roster is currently loaded with talent that is sure to make some All- Big Ten honors come next season. Here are some way too early predictions for the honors. Lets start with the offensive skill position players.
Justin Fields, QB- First Team All-Big Ten
This one is without question as Justin Fields will head into 2020 as a leading candidate to win the Heisman Trophy next season. Fields threw 41 touchdowns compared to only three interception and if he can duplicate that type of performance, Ohio State will be back in the College Football Playoff and Fields could wind up as a top 10 NFL Draft pick.
Trey Sermon, RB- Third Team All-Big Ten
The grad transfer from Oklahoma, Trey Sermon is expected to start at tailback for Ohio State next season. And being a starting running back at Ohio State almost certainly guarantees a spot on one of the All-Big Ten teams. Look for Sermon to excel in the passing game out of the backfield for the Buckeyes.
Chris Olave, WR- First Team All-Big Ten
Look for Justin Fields to throw the ball more next season as Ray Day will try to keep him from having to use his legs except in big games. This means a lot more opportunity for Fields No.1 target in Chris Olave.
Garret Wilson, WR- Second Team All-Big Ten
For the same reasons mentioned above with Olave, Garrett Wilson should see plenty of opportunities next season. The most physically gifted receiver on the field for Ohio State, Wilson is sure to make some spectacular plays next season.
Now let’s look at the talented big guys who will open holes for running backs and protect the quarterback.
