Ohio State Football: NFL mock draft, where Buckeyes land
No. 43: CB Damon Arnette, Chicago Bears
Cornerback is a position of need for the Bears, and Arnette may have been overshadowed by Jeffrey Okudah, but he put together an excellent season in his own regard. Arnette will be a difference maker and should continue the Ohio State DB legacy.
No. 48: RB J.K. Dobbins, New York Jets
This spot is by no means saying I think Dobbins should fall this low, but if the Chiefs or Dolphins don’t pick him up in the late-first round selections, Dobbins could fall all the way down to No. 48, where the Jets would take him to improve their second-worst rushing total from last year. Mid-second round is late, so look for the Jets to trade up in the second round.
No. 69: LB Malik Harrison, Carolina Panthers
With linebacker being a position of need for the Panthers, Harrison is one of the best on the board and would be a big addition for the Panthers’ defense. After creating a legacy as a Buckeye, Harrison could be the player who take over for Luke Kuechly in the middle of the Panthers’ defense.
No. 73: OG Jonah Jackson, Los Angeles Rams
Bolstering the offensive line is an important focus for most teams in the NFL Draft, and Jackson will be a player to watch between rounds 2-4. Protecting Jared Goff is important for the Rams to take the next step and get back to the level they were at when they made the Super Bowl a couple of years ago.
No. 88: WR K.J. Hill, New Orleans Saints
Maybe this pick is just “Buckeye South” talking, but can you imagine an offense with Drew Brees, Michael Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders and Alvin Kamara? If the Saints picked up Hill, they would have a versatile receiving threat who could catch the ball short or over-the-top. If the Saints address other team needs with their earlier picks, an addition of Hill would bolster one of the NFL’s best offenses.

No. 164: WR Binjimen Victor, Dallas Cowboys
If not for the rich WR class, Victor would likely be taken in the third or fourth round. Because of the concentration of talented receivers, the Cowboys know they can wait until the fifth round to take a WR. With Victor still on the board, the Cowboys scoop him up to bolster their passing game.
No. 185: S Jordan Fuller, Miami Dolphins
Safety is a target for the Dolphins, and if Fuller is still available in the sixth round, look for the Dolphins to scoop him up. Fuller was part of a vaunted secondary in the Buckeyes’ 2019 run and looks to be another DB in the long line of successful former-Buckeyes in the NFL.
No. 222: OT Brandon Bowen, Arizona Cardinals
Offensive line is a focus for the Cardinals, who will hope to protect Kyler Murray better than last season. Bowen has recovered incredibly from a horrible broken leg in 2017, and will bolster any NFL team’s offensive line.
Undrafted free agents:
WR Austin Mack: If not for the rich WR class, Mack would likely find a home in the 5-7 rounds. Nonetheless, Mack is sure to find a home via free agency and can make a difference for whichever team signs him.
