Semi-Final No. 1: 2014 vs. 2019

Wow would this be a fun game to watch, Urban Meyer vs, Ryan Day. Cardale Jones vs. Justin Fields. Joey Bosa vs. Chase Young. JK Dobbins vs, Zeke Elliott. The matchups go on and on in this game. The future first round draft picks and NFL talent on the field in this game is truly remarkable.

The talent of these two teams are equal. And when the talent on the field is equal, this game is going to come down to coaching. The only thing is, I believe both of these two coaches are probably going to be among the best in their respective generations.

The edge has to go to the more experienced Urban Meyer as he has been there before, winning three national titles along the way. Ryan Day’s time will come, just not right now.

I’ve got the 2014 team squeaking out a win here, 34-31.

Semi-Final No. 2: 2002 vs. 1996

Here we go, John Cooper vs. Jim Tressel. Coach Tress was able to effectively turn the tide against Michigan going 9-1 in “The Game” during his tenure as the Buckeyes head coach. John Cooper couldn’t beat Michigan, and that is why Jim Tressel came in to replace him.

The 2002 team defense was as stout as they come. Led by middle linebacker Matt Wilhelm, safety Mike Doss and corner Chris Gamble, I believe it would going to be very hard for the 1996 team to put up points against them.

While the 1996 team was probably the more talented of the two, Coach Tressel has the in-game coaching advantage over John Cooper and that serves to be the difference in this game. I’ve got the 2002 team winning a close one here 27-23.
