No. 2: Tony Grimes, CB

This is why you pay coach Kerry Coombs the big bucks. To land top-end talent and to develop them into first round draft picks. With all of his success and with Ohio State’s recent success of pumping defensive backs into the NFL, I expect Coombs to land the top ranked cornerback in this class in Tony Grimes from Virginia Beach.

Grimes may be the most difficult prospect to land on this list with the hometown Virginia tech Hokies and Clemson Tigers hot after him but Coombs should prove to be the difference in his recruitment. The number seven overall player in this class, Grimes would provide Ohio State with a top corner recruit that they have not had since Jeff Okudah was recruited to play in Columbus by Coombs.

No. 1: J.T. Tuimoloau, DT

J.T. Tuimoloau would represent a massive get for Ohio State. This would mean that the Buckeyes would secure two of the top three rated players in this draft class withe Jack Sawyer and Tuimoloau.

This big time prospect from Sammamish Washington is the top remaining uncommitted player in the class. And with the Buckeyes as a favorite in obtaining him, look for coach Larry Johnson to roll out the red carpet in order to get him.

Next. Buckeyes lose assistant DL coach, expect him back. dark

Currently, 247Sports has Tuimoloau as a 60 percent chance of attending Ohio State in 2021 with Washington having the next best odds at 20 percent. This would be a home run recruit for Ohio State and would almost certainly lock them in as the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation for 2021.
