Scarlet & Game: What impresses you most about Coach Day?

Justin: “I think Coach Day has done a great job of taking what he learned while he was here under Urban, and molding it into how he wants his program to run. It would be easy to keep things status quo, but he has a way he wants to coach/mentor/parent and he has done a great job implementing that into the program that he now runs. Of course, winning always makes things better and the way he continues to recruit, I don’t think that will stop any time soon!”

Scarlet & Game: What are your expectations for the Buckeyes this season? Who are you keeping an eye on this year?

Justin: “We have become spoiled over the last 10-15 years, always expecting to have a Championship football team and I think we are there once again.  The way this program has reloaded, after losing guys to the NFL is amazing. It just goes to show how important recruiting is, and Coach Day realizes that and continues to hear one BOOM after another! (shout out to Pantoni)

I can’t wait to see the growth of Justin Fields. Being an old QB, I tend to favor the offensive side of the ball. Justin will be the first QB that Coach Day has had more than a year with and they’ve surrounded him with plenty of talent to throw the ball to so I’m excited for that. I was hoping this Spring would be a time where they could let Justin take the reins and get these young WR’s some experience, with everything going on, they will be playing catch up…..but I expect they’ll come along just fine once they’re able to get back together for team activities. Will be fun to watch!”

Scarlet & Game: What are the keys for the Buckeyes to get back to the College Football Playoff?

Justin: “Stay healthy! When you have as much talent on a team as the Bucks do, we just need everyone to stay healthy and play to their potential. The talent gap between us and the rest of the Big Ten is no secret. If we can keep our guys healthy, and a couple new additions buy in and contribute like we think they can, there’s no reason we shouldn’t be in that Big Ten Championship game, with our eyes on the Playoff!”
