Number Two:  Notre Dame 1996

Ohio State pounded Notre Dame in 1995 racking up 533 yards of offense in the 45-26 win.  There is no doubt the Fighting Irish wanted revenge. They would not get it.

Pepe Pearson rushed for 173 yards and two touchdowns leading the Buckeyes to the 29-16 win.

This would be Lou Holtz’s final season at Notre Dame.  I like to think Ohio State’s beatdown took the fight out of him.

Number One:  Oklahoma 2016

This would be the first game between these two powerhouses since Ohio State’s 24-14 win in Norman back in 1983.

The game would be delayed for hours due to weather.  I am sure Bob Stoops wished the weather never cleared enough to play because the Buckeyes came out on fire and throttled his team all night in the 45-24 win.

J.T. Barrett and Noah Brown connected for four touchdowns, but it was the 291 yards rushing that was too much for Oklahoma’s defense.

The Silver Bullets harassed Baker Mayfield for most of the game baiting him into two interceptions.

Urban Meyer took the foot of the pedal after taking the 42-17 lead early in the third quarter.  Otherwise the beatdown would have been a lot worse.
