Ohio State Football: Comparing Justin Fields, Trevor Lawrence
Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence was said to be a phenom coming out of high school as a recruit, but on an even higher scale than Fields who also received endless praise. At an incredible 6’6 220lbs, it has been said Lawrence is the best prospect since Andrew Luck, but only time will accurately tell that story.
In his first two seasons at Clemson, Lawrence has won the ACC twice as well as a National Championship, along with appearing in the final game both years. The loss to LSU in New Orleans was the first of Lawrence’s collegiate career.
Lawrence started slow in 2019, but picked it up en route to another standout season. He completed 66% of his passes for 36 touchdowns and 3,665 yards and only 8 interceptions. And Lawrence can also run with the football as he accounted for nine trips to the house on the ground.
So don’t be fooled by his size, he can also beat you with his legs. Just ask the Ohio State defensive players as he bashed them for a surprisingly long touchdown run in Phoenix.
These two quarterbacks are the most dynamic in the college game and didn’t disappoint in the Fiesta Bowl last year as their heroics were on full display. A rematch seems to be well in order next January in what could be another instant classic college football showdown.
