Ohio State Football: Buckeyes dominate Big Ten recruiting again
The ink on the 2020 recruiting cycle is officially dry. Ohio State football coach Ryan Day and his staff can sit back and relax for about 10 seconds to bask in the glory of landing another stellar group of players.
Rivals.com and 247Sports both rank the Ohio State football team’s 2020 recruiting class No. 5 nationally and No. 1 in the Big Ten. Across the college football landscape, the rich got richer again this year as Georgia, Clemson, Alabama and LSU join Ohio State with Top 5 classes.
The SEC landed seven of the top 10 which guarantees we will be hearing the talking heads shove conference supremacy and total domination down our throats even more than they already do.
To be fair, the Big Ten did not measure quite as well. Michigan, Penn State, Nebraska and Wisconsin all landed top 25 classes, but none finished in the top 10.
Still, the heavyweights in the conference got better today and that bodes well for sustaining the overall competitiveness. On a side note, Cincinnati’s class was the highest rated Group of Six class finishing No. 36 by Rivals.com and No. 40 by 247Sports.

Luke Fickell may leave for Michigan State if he gets the offer, but no one could blame him for sticking around because he has this program on a roll. With Michael Warren II and Desmond Ridder back this season, he has a legitimate shot at winning the AAC and possibly more.
Back to the Buckeyes. The coaches delivered a class full of future stars in every unit.

The champion award in terms of recruiting prowess belongs to Brian Hartline.
Building trust with players is a remarkable skill. and coach Hartline does it masterfully. Landing Julian Fleming, Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Gee Scott, Jr. means the run of greatness at wide receiver is going to continue.
Coupled with landing quarterbacks C.J. Stroud and Jack Miller, Day will own the Big Ten if he can maintain the culture that was fostered in 2019.
