There have been quite a few Ohio State football players who have made a name for themselves in the past decade. I’ll take a look at the top six.

This list is going to consist of my top six Ohio State football players who played from 2010-2019.  This may be a controversial list and there will probably be more added in a part two consisting other outstanding players.

Anyway, here are my top six Ohio State players from the past decade.

6. Braxton Miller

The Ohio State team that was in trouble after the Rose Bowl rings controversy and the tattoo scandal in 2011. After Terrelle Pryor decided to enter the NFL supplemental draft, Ohio State was in need of someone to take his place and bring the football program back to the winning ways.

That quarterback would be Braxton Miller, a five-star quarterback out of Wayne high school, who was named a Mr.  Football Finalist. He threw for 3,339 yards, 29 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

Fans thought, how was playing for Ohio State in this situation was going to turn out for him?  Well, it turned out to be quite successful.  From 2011-2013, he threw for 5,292 yards 52 touchdowns and 17 interceptions.

He had a step back in 2014 as he got hurt and was out for the season.  The Buckeyes won the inaugural College Football Playoff National Championship that same season, Millers’ first championship as a member of the team.

In 2015, it was a bounce-back season and a little reboot to his career.  With the success of JT Barrett and Cardale Jones in 2014, Miller was switched to playing wide receiver.

His big moment that season was an outstanding spin move in the season opener against Virginia Tech.  That play went for 53 yards in the 42-24 week one victory.  He also had 25 receptions for 340 yards and three touchdowns that season.

Miller would be drafted in the third round by the Houston Texas.  He played for the Texans from 2016-2017. After that he was signed to the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad and then signed with the Browns during the preseason.

As of now Miller is a free agent.  He has 34 receptions for 261 yards and two touchdowns in his NFL Career.
