Ohio State holds Anthony McFarland Jr. and Javon Leak to 50 yards total rushing

The Ohio State defense got torched by Anthony McFarland Jr. in last year’s Maryland game. He went off for 298 yards on 21 carries and two touchdowns. That was an embarrassing performance by the Buckeye defense.

I can not even comprehend how he did that against Ohio State’s defensive front seven, even with the old coaching staff.

This season junior Javon Leak has taken away some of McFarland’s touches so the Buckeyes must prepare for him too.

I am going to guess this defense wants revenge for that outing as most starters returned. That is why I am predicting a rough afternoon for the Terps’ tailbacks.

50 yards on the ground is all they get between them against a defensive front that is only allowing 91.5 yards rushing per game, good enough for ninth in the country.
