Ohio State Football: College football mid-season recap
Texas A&M Aggies (3-3), My Prediction: #11, 9-3
The Texas A&M Aggies have losses against three top 12 teams but they haven’t played up to expectations. Some (myself included) thought that A&M could take match-ups against Clemson and Alabama down to the final possession.
With Kellen Mond at QB, I even thought the Aggies would upset the Crimson Tide and give them the only loss of the season. Instead, A&M never really stayed within reach in the loss to Alabama and isn’t out of the woods yet. The schedule lets up for a few weeks, but the Aggies close with road games against the Georgia Bulldogs and LSU Tigers.
Remaining key games: @ Georgia, @ LSU
Washington Huskies (4-2), My Prediction: #14, 10-2
It gets tough to pick teams that have failed to live up to expectations, as even my dark horse teams have lived up to expectations (thanks Baylor and Minnesota). However, Washington has already lost to California at home and Stanford on the road, with games still to come against Oregon and Utah (luckily both are at Husky Stadium).
Jacob Eason has played well enough, but the Huskies are out of any College Football Playoff hunt and a loss to the Oregon Ducks this Saturday could knock them out of the Pac-12 North race.
Remaining key games: Oregon, Utah, Washington State
Clemson and Georgia have also been disappointing at times. The Tigers have consistently failed to play to last year’s level, while the Bulldogs played well up until their upset loss at home against the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Now, let’s take a look at key games involving Ohio State that could determine the College Football Playoff participants through Week 13.
