Former Ohio State Buckeye Nick Bosa showed that he is the most dominant rookie in the NFL this season – and the whole world is now on notice.
Many football fans in Ohio turned on their televisions rooting for the Cleveland Browns on Monday but they turned them off cheering for former Ohio State defensive end – and current San Francisco 49er – Nick Bosa.
Bosa – who was the second overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft – was a man among boys last night as he had four tackles, two sacks, five quarterback hits, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery, according to Cleveland.com. He also put pressure on Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield in the first quarter that ultimately resulted in an interception thrown by Mayfield.
These are just a few things people had to say about Bosa’s coming out party last night.

After Bosa sacked Mayfield from the ground Pro Football Focus (@PFF) tweeted, “Nick Bosa is UNBLOCKABLE.” Additionally during the game, former Indianapolis Colts punter and current ESPN analyst Pat McAfee tweeted, “Bosa’s just a barbarian of a man isn’t he.”
The Athletic’s David Lombardi also tweeted that Bosa had nine pressures last night, originally reported by Pro Football Focus, and that that was the most in a single game by any NFL player this year.
While his play on the field got a lot of attention, more people were talking about his celebrations.
After knocking Mayfield on the ground in the second quarter, Bosa celebrated by acting like he was waving a flag and then acted like he planted the flag in the ground. Which, if you remember Mayfield did that on Ohio State’s field when Oklahoma defeated OSU back in 2017.
Bosa then went on to actually plant a 49ers flag into the ground after the game, continuing to mock Mayfield.
During his postgame interviews, Bosa then admitted that he usually doesn’t trash talk, but he did talk trash to Mayfield and that he had it coming.
You can watch Bosa’s interview with the media in this tweet by ESPN.
Many people believe that Bosa will certainly win the Defensive Rookie of the Year Award if he keeps up what he did last night and he might even have a case for some overall Rookie of the Year Awards. Ohio State fans have always known that Bosa is special but now the entire world knows it.
