Ohio State Football: Buckeyes dominate both sides of the ball again
The Ohio State football team dominated both sides of the ball through the first three games and certainly did so in Week 4 in the win over Miami.
The Ohio State Buckeyes got off to a slow start against the Miami Redhawks and fell behind quickly 5-0 on a safety and a field goal. Once J.K. Dobbins scored on a 26 yard run with a little over five minutes left in the first quarter it was lights out from there.
Ohio State led 49-5 at halftime and scored the final 76 points in the game.
It was total domination by the Buckeyes like it has been so far this season. Let’s take a look at the stats that tell the story.
Justin Fields for 223 yards and 4 touchdowns in the first half. He also had 36 yards on the ground and two more scores. Coach Day thought that was enough work for one game and gave Fields the second half off.
His backups performed well while he got a break. Chris Chuganov completed 6 of 7 passes for 86 yards and 2 touchdowns. Gunnar Hoak was 2-2 for 65 yards and a score.
More importantly they kept the offense rolling. It didn’t hurt that the offensive line was opening holes for the running backs and they all took advantage.
J.K. Dobbins got a much needed break with the big lead and that will help down the road. He still rushed for 52 yards and a TD on 8 carries.

Freshmen running backs Steele Chambers and Marcus Crowley saw playing time and performed well. Chambers led the team with 63 yards rushing and scored a touchdown. Crowley added 22 yards on the ground on four carries and caught a 7 yard touchdown pass.
Master Teague Master Teague ran for 34 yards and caught a 17 yard pass. Demario McCall and Amari McMahon each had a carry that went for 10 yards.
The Buckeye defense was simply light’s out again.
The Redhawks could only gain 70 yards on the ground on 43 carries. They only had 7 completions in 20 attempts for 60 yards.
I would say 603 yards of total offense vs. 130 in a 76-5 win should be considered dominating both sides of the ball.
I think most thought the Ohio State offense would be very good this season but there were concerns about the defense. With the way the Silver Bullets have been playing that’s no longer an issue.
