What if Texas and Oklahoma split again, only this time it’s the Longhorns who win the Big 12?

Tom Herman and Sam Elingher have Texas back on the map and are a true threat to Oklahoma in the Big 12. The rough part about playing in a nine-team conference is the round-robin scheduling which denotes a rematch in the conference title game.

I foresee the Longhorns and Sooners splitting again, but if this year is in reverse Oklahoma could be on the outside looking in. If that is Oklahoma’s only loss I still see them receiving a bid unless there is a second SEC team on the brink in which case it’s “sorry Big 12.”

However, if mass chaos ensues and LSU emerges out of the SEC, an argument for Texas would certainly have a pulse. I could see the Longhorns being classified as one of the four best teams if this marriage of events is able to occur.

Playoff Picks: LSU vs Texas and Clemson vs Ohio State.
