5. Oklahoma

The Sooners offense hasn’t lost a step since Jalen Hurts took over at quarterback, but there are some concerns that are keeping me from putting them in the top 4 of my College Football Playoff predictions. The obvious concern would be the defense, namely the safeties. The Sooners defense has looked improved through three weeks against vastly inferior opponents, but some similar problems still remain in the secondary. While I’m extremely impressed with Hurts’ progression as a passer, I’m waiting to see him have this kind of production in a tight game situation against a half-competent defense.

6. Georgia

More from Ohio State Football

I’m more or less keeping Georgia here likely until Saturday. Georgia takes on Notre Dame in what should be a lopsided game in favor of the Bulldogs. That’s a top 10 win, and will likely push Georgia past Oklahoma next week. I just haven’t seen enough from Georgia quite yet. I want to see Jake Fromm having to take more control of a football game, but with Georgia’s powerful running game and Notre Dame’s early struggles against the run, I doubt we see Fromm being forced to make too many difficult throws.

What Buckeye Fans Need to Know

Week 3 was an uneventful one, but we saw another fellow B1G squad disappoint. Michigan State fell to the Arizona State Sun Devils in the most boring fashion. The Buckeyes schedule, though filled with ranked teams, doesn’t look to be overly difficult. Ohio State’s high flying offense and improved defense seem to be a matchup problem for most of the conference. I don’t see one team in this conference that I think can hold Ohio State under 30 points.

Next. Buckeye Blitz Week 4. dark

The future appears to be bright for our Buckeyes. The SEC is still a problem, but I think that Ohio State can sneak into the playoff this season over a one loss conference champ from the Big 12 or PAC-12, or even a one loss SEC team without a conference championship. Go Bucks!
