Ohio State football has dominated so far this season, and the country is beginning to notice as many national media members are praising their play.

Somehow the Buckeyes, who started the season at No. 5, have dropped to No. 6 in the AP Poll despite obliterating their competition so far this year, but their play – as individuals and as a team – has still been raising eyebrows of notable people throughout the country.

One of those individuals is quarterback Justin Fields who has been one of the top quarterbacks in the country so far this season.

Fields has thrown for 657 yards, nine touchdowns, and no interceptions on a 70.3 completion percentage through the first three games. This is in addition to rushing for 114 yards and four touchdowns.

There have been several national sports writers and talking heads who have given Fields their stamps of approval already this season. Barrett Sallee of CBS Sports tweeted on Sunday that Fields is a top guy in his Heisman race right now while Jeremy Leman of the Big Ten Network said that Fields is one of his two favorites to win the trophy with Oklahoma’s Jalen Hurts.

Additionally, ESPN has Justin Fields as the fourth-best guy in their Heisman race right now, proving that everyone is starting to jump on the Fields bandwagon.

The man that lines up in the backfield with Fields has also been getting a lot of attention in J.K. Dobbins as his 26-yard touchdown against Indiana last week went viral on social media. In that run, Dobbins broke about a million tackles and had a nasty stiff-arm to help him hit pay dirt.

So far this year, Dobbins has ran for 425 yards on 60 carries, good for 7.1 yards per carry. Last week his 193-yard performance against Indiana earned him a Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week honor and he had many people tweeting his praises during the game, including Buckeye basketball legend Jared Sullinger who tweeted, “JK Dobbins type day.”

People certainly took notice of how special of a day he had last week.

The last guy who has been praised by the national media is defensive end Chase Young.

Young already has five sacks so far this season and 5.5 tackles for loss. Even if he doesn’t get the tackle or sack, his presence alone can wreak havoc on an opponent’s offense.

Mike Renner of Pro Football Focus tweeted that Young and Alabama wide receiver Jerry Jeudy are his two top 2020 draft prospects already while The Draft Network’s Jordan Reid tweeted that Young has looked like the best defensive player in the country so far this year.

Buckeye fans aren’t the only ones realizing how great this guy is and I expect more people will continue to notice his talent.

Lastly, let’s look at what people are saying about this team.

The Buckeyes have made playing football look easy so far, defeating Florida Atlantic 45-21, blowing out a solid Cincinnati team 42-0 and then embarrassing Indiana 51-10.

Their play so far has made college football stars like Reggie Bush tweet “So Ohio State is pretty good…” and reporters like Jenny Taft of Fox Sports tweet, “Let me just say, OHIO STATE. I’m impressed.”

Kirk Herbstreit, former Buckeye and one of the best college football analysts in the country for ESPN, tweeted that he has Ohio State as the third-best team in the country right now while Clay Travis of Fox Sports Radio said he has the Buckeyes at No. 4.

I think all of us are excited about the way the Buckeyes are playing so far this year. They are dominating and are showing that they have enough weapons to go the distance. The best part about the start of the season so far, though, is that we aren’t the only ones realizing that this team could be special.
