The Ohio State Buckeyes are off to an impressive start through the first three games of the season. Not only because they are 3-0 but because they are dominating.

Just look at the Ohio State win over Indiana Saturday. The 51-10 victory only tells part of the story because the one touchdown the Hoosiers scored was on a trick play.

Other than that, the defense was lights out.

The Buckeyes had their way on offense from start to finish. The offensive line played like “Slobs” of old and opened holes for J.K. Dobbins to rush for 197 yards and his backup Master Teague to gain another 106 yards on the ground.

Ryan Day saw no need to air the ball out but Justin Fields still threw for three touchdowns. He also ran for another.

Total Yards: Buckeyes 520, Hoosiers 257

In week two, many had the Buckeyes on an upset alert or at least expected a battle. That sounded reasonable, The Cincinnati Bearcats were coming off an 11-2 season with a win over Virginia Tech in the Military Bowl.

If someone didn’t watch the first game they may have thought Florida Atlantic Owls gave the Buckeyes a pretty good battle with the final score being 45-21. That was hardly the case.

The Buckeyes jumped out to a 28-0 lead right off the bat. Then Ryan Day went vanilla on offense so as not to give coach Fickell a lot to game plan for the following week.

He also put a lot of young guys in the game to gain experience. If coach Day had poured on the coals it could have been at least a 50 point win.

Now let’s do the math for the first three games. Ohio State is averaging 46 points per game and holding opponents to 10.3. The Buckeyes are averaging 499 total yards per game while giving up 253.  I would say that’s not just winning, but dominating.
