Ohio State Football: 5 knee jerk reactions after week 2
The Ohio State Buckeyes easily handled the Cincinnati Bearcats 42-0 Saturday. Here are five knee jerk reactions from the dominating win.
Ohio State heard the chirping all week about the potential of Cincinnati pulling the upset. After a dominating 42-0 win, it is safe to say Ryan Day is not going to let this team overlook any opponent.
Here are five knee jerk reactions after week two.
Tempo: This offense looks most efficient when operating quickly. Double down on that until it does not pay off.
Under Center: The effectiveness of power running when Justin Fields goes under center cannot be under stated. The line comes off the ball cleanly and J.K. Dobbins has wide open holes to gain significant yards.
This is Ryan Day separating himself from Urban Meyer and it is working magnificently.
Read and React: Forget scheme. The defense is finally playing on instinct and getting to the ball carrier quickly.

Florida Atlantic and Cincinnati both ran several plays that last season would have been 30 or 40 rushing-yard gains, but this year ended up being minimal gains.
It is still early, but all signs indicate that this defense is ready to prove it is championship worthy.
Throw Away and Move On: Fields is going to be really special. Maybe the best this program has had.
He has to learn the easiest part of the game. Throwing the ball away when the play is failing.
Taking unnecessary hits or losses is not needed. This team needs him for the season. Get rid of the ball and live to fight another down.
Running Backs: We all know Dobbins is special, but Teague is showing his metal as the no. 2 back.
The Big Ten will be a grind again, especially in the East where the defenses are looking really strong. Having a one-two punch will be needed to navigate the season successfully.
