Ohio State may have slowed down during the second half, but in the first they performed very well and took care of the Florida Atlantic Owls

The Ohio State Buckeyes opened week one against Lane Kiffin and the Florida Atlantic Owls.  This was the start of the Buckeyes new journey for head coach Ryan Day and Quarterback Justin Fields.

Fields started off the game with a booming 51 yard run just two minutes into the first quarter.  Fields would show the Ohio State fan base more action with three touchdown passes in the first quarter.

The first one was to Jeremy Ruckert for 25 yards, the second was to Binjimen Victor for 32 yards and the third was to Chris Olave for 29 yards.  Fields would then throw another touchdown to Ruckert in the third quarter.

The only points Florida Atlantic would get in the second and third quarter was a pair of field goals by Vladimir Rivas.

The Owls would get some offense going later on thanks to running back Larry McCammon the third who ran it in for a three yard touchdown. And quarterback Chris Robinson found John Raine for a two yard touchdown pass.

The Buckeyes defense did make a play late in the game when Josh Proctor picked off quarterback Justin Agner.

Backups did come in which was possibly the reason for some of the Florida Atlantic scores.  The Owls did find some consistency, but it was too late as they would lose to the Buckeyes 45-21.

Justin Fields finished 18/25 with 234 yards passing and those three touchdowns, plus 12 carries for 61 yards rushing and a touchdown.  JK Dobbins led Ohio State in Rushing with 21 carries for 91 yards and a touchdown in the fourth Quarter.

Ohio State (1-0) will host former coach Luke Fickell and the Cincinnati Bearcats next week.  Kickoff is 12pm EST on ABC.
