The hype has reached it’s boiling point for the 2019 college football season. In less than 24 hours, Ohio State will finally take the field against FAU.

Ryan Day and Justin Fields’ much-anticipated debuts are only hours away, as Chase Young and his fellow defensive linemen prepare to terrorize opposing QBs and J.K. Dobbins readies himself to run all over defenses and the talented receivers work to get past the Owl DBs.

As the offensive line prepares for “pancakes”, the DBs and LBs like Jeffrey Okudah and Malik Harrison prime themselves to lead the back seven to the Silver Bullet levels of yesteryear.

And while the players go over game plan and strategy, the coaches lead the way as kickoff against the Owls becomes ever closer.

Greg Mattison and Mike Yurcich will hope to have the defensive and offensive units buzzing as the fans bring the noise on Saturday in the Shoe.

From tailgates outside Ohio Stadium to Skull Session at St. John’s, the excitement will continue to build and intensify up until the Buckeyes stand inside their tunnel as 100,000+ fans clad in Scarlet and Gray ready their voices for a raucous cheer.

As the team charges out of the tunnel minutes before noon, the band and cheer teams will be congregated around the rest of the field as the anticipation finally boils over into a frenzy.

Chants of “O-H-I-O” will resonate throughout the Stadium with the same name, as the captains meet inside the Block O at midfield.

Inside the other Block O in the stands, Ohio State fans will elevate the decibel level even higher as kickoff inches closer.

With the formalities out of the way, the chants of “O-H-I-O” will continue to echo louder and louder throughout The Shoe as the Owls or Buckeyes put the ball on the tee and kick off their season.

With that, the anticipation for the 2019 season will wane, but not be over. After all, there are 11 (or 12 or 13 or even 14) other games still to be played for the Scarlet and Gray.

If the Buckeyes can use their offensive weapons as expected and improve their defense, there will be more games to play. And every week will bring the same anticipation as the week before. O-H!
