Ohio State Football: 3 under the radar Buckeyes to watch
The Buckeyes will have plenty of high-profile players on display this season, but who are the under the radar players we should be watching?
We are a day away from Buckeye football season finally being here after an off-season that was way too long for my liking. With it being Ohio State, there is plenty of talent to watch.
Justin Fields, J.K. Dobbins, K.J Hill and Chase Young are all going to be fantastic. We know that, but who are going to be the players that step out of the shadow and into the spotlight?
No. 3 Garrett Wilson
This is a name that most Buckeye fans have probably already heard of. He was a five-star recruit and ranked the No. 2 WR in the nation so the kid can obviously play. But I’m not sure how many fans are expecting the true freshman to make an immediate impact, especially in such a deep wide-receiving corps.
K.J. Hill will have the most receptions this season and that is how it should be. But don’t be surprised if Wilson makes some key appearances both tomorrow and throughout the rest of the season.
No. 2 Zach Harrison

Another high-profile player in the 2019 class most Buckeye fans have heard of, Harrison also has a chance to make an impact in the upcoming season. Like Wilson, Harrison is a five-star recruit and has elite size and speed.
Unlike Wilson though, Harrison should make a bigger impact in a defensive end unit which isn’t as deep as the group of wide receivers. Harrison will definitely get some reps during blowouts but don’t be surprised if he plays some important downs this season to give the guys on the line a rest.
No. 1 Demario McCall
While it’s unclear how much playing time Demario McCall will get tomorrow while harboring a calf injury, the junior should have a breakout season. While J.K. Dobbins is the first string running back, as he should be, McCall will get his touches.
The Buckeyes have had players who could do it all who played ahead of McCall , the Curtis Samuel’s and Parris Campbell’s, so he had a hard time getting onto the field. Now he is settled in at running back.
McCall should fit that role well this season, and after gaining a measly 160 yards from scrimmage last season it’s his turn to break out.
