No. 5 Ted Ginn Jr.

Ted Ginn Jr. was one of the most hyped-up players coming to Ohio State from high school of all-time. The reason for all of this hype was because of the immense speed that Ginn had. Immense is probably an understatement.

Ginn Jr. was lightning quick, and while his height at 5’11” has never been his strong suit that didn’t seem to matter much on the football field.

He made a huge impact his freshman season but it wasn’t necessarily from the wide receiver position. Ginn led the nation in punt yards per return and was second in the country in punt return touchdowns with a whopping four.

His return for a touchdown in 2004 against 7th ranked Michigan is still one of the best highlights in Buckeye history.

It was in 2005 where his receiving chops really began to show as Ginn along with Santonio Holmes were one of the most deadly receiver combos in Buckeye history. Ginn’s sophomore season was actually his best but not by much as he caught 51 passes for 803 yards and 4 touchdowns.

In his final season with the Buckeyes in 2006 he caught 59 passes for 781 yards and 9 touchdowns.

Ginn’s brightest and unfortunately last moment came in the 2007 BCS National Championship game against Florida as Ginn took the opening kickoff back for a touchdown but was injured in the celebration. He didn’t return and let’s not talk about what happened the rest of that game.

Ginns ranks 10th for Ohio State in receiving yards with 1,943 and 10th in receptions with 135.

His electric speed will certainly never be forgotten and it why his name shows up on this list.
