12 commits in the 2020 Ohio State class are ranked among the top 247 high school players according to one recruiting service.

Usually I refer to the 247Sports Composite rankings when discussing recruits in the Ohio State class because it’s a reflection of how different services view players. However, I enjoy reading 247Sports articles because many provide terrific info on high school players and I like to know which Buckeye recruits are ranked in the top 247.

12 commits in the 2020 Ohio State class are on the list at the moment. Here is a look at those recruits listed among the Top 247 along with position and overall rankings in the 247Sports Composite, which will differ in most cases.

  • Wide receiver Julian Fleming No. 4:  No. 1, 5th overall
  • Offensive tackle Parris Johnson Jr. No. 7:  No. 1, 7th overall
  • Wide receiver Gee Scot Jr. No. 26:  No. 12, 26th overall
  • Cornerback Clark Phillips Jr No. 33:  No. 4, 44th overall
  • Center Luke Wypler No. 34:  No. 1, 69th overall
  • Wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njlgba No. 49:  No. 10, 59th overall

Look at the four wide receivers on the list. Think Brian Hartline isn’t happy?

I am a bit surprised Jack Miller has slipped in the rankings but it has been reported he is dealing with an injury situation. This is the time of the year when exposure, or lack thereof, can move a player up or down in the rankings.

Not to worry though, Miller is one of the finest high school quarterbacks in the country.

There are at least two other players on the list who may join the 2020 Ohio State class. They are cornerback Elias Hicks (No. 9) and running back Bljan Robinson (No. 23).

Hicks is committed to LSU but it has been widely reported he could still be in play. Robinson’s Crystal Ball Predictions show the Buckeyes as the favorite at 64 percent.

As of now the 2020 Ohio State class is ranked No. 4 in the country. Ryan Day and his staff have certainly made waves on the recruiting trail and it didn’t take them long to do so.
