How will Austin Mack perform during the 2019 Ohio State football season?

Going into the 2018 season Austin Mack was expected to be a big time wide receiver for Ohio State. Those hopes ended when he suffered a foot injury.

Last season was a tough one for Ohio State wide receiver Austin Mack.  Buckeye fans expected the junior was going to have an excellent season but things didn’t go as planned.

After a good start, Mack suffered a foot injury during the horrible loss to the Purdue Boilermakers.  He ended the season ended with 26 receptions for 331 yards and one touchdown. Down from his 2017 stats when he had 24 receptions for 343 yards and two touchdowns.

With new quarterback Justin Fields taking the snaps this year, it may be a bit different for Mack to get use to his throws and new head coach Ryan Day. But when it is all said and done, in my opinion, Mack will bounce back from that bad foot injury and have more than one touchdown this season.

My prediction for the senior is that he will start slow for the first game or two, but will turn on the jets and make a bunch of spectacular catches in 2019. His final stats will be something close to 40 receptions, around 500 yards he and score 5 to 10 touchdowns.

My prediction may be right since it’s been reported by the Lettermenrow that Mack has made some great catches in the Woody Hayes Athletic Center after recovering from his injury. If so, receivers coach Brian Hartline will have yet another veteran to lead the way for the younger guys, who are extremely talented.

Chris Olave came up big during his freshman season filling in for Mack catching 12 passes for 197 yards and 3 scores. Also, everybody has been waiting for the tall, athletic Jaylen Harris to break out with a big season and true freshman Garrett Wilson has star written all over him.

Wilson has impressed everybody since he stepped on campus and his catch in the spring game was unbelievable.

But even though these are talented players, it would be nice to have the senior Mack back up to full speed which will certainly help Justin Fields during his first year as a starter.

Next. Big Ten will be decided by 'The Game'. dark

How effective do you think Austin Mack will be this season coming off his injury?  Do you think he will bounce back or do you think he will struggle?  Hope you let me know.
