Ryan Day is making a strong push for five-star running back Bijan Robinson and has a good shot at bringing him into his Ohio State recruiting class.

In the last 10 years, Ohio State has had nine 1,000 yard rushers, Texas has had one. In the last 10 NFL Drafts, Ohio State has had five running backs drafted. Texas has had one.

This should be enough to convince the five-star, 200 pound running back Bijan Robinson to commit to the Buckeyes’ 2020 class.

Robinson would be the cherry on top for Coach Ryan Day and his 2020 recruiting class. Day will be competing against Tom Herman and the Texas Longhorns to land the highly touted running back.

After taking his official visit to Columbus two weeks ago, Robinson spent this past weekend with the Longhorns in Austin. USC seems to still be in the chase for Robinson as well.

More from Ohio State Football

The Tucson, Arizona native won the running back Most Valuable Player award at the Rivals Adidas Five-Star Challenge in Atlanta last week. Buckeyes 2020 quarterback commit, Jack Miller, has been stepping up his recruiting efforts for Robinson tweeting out #BijanToColumbus after the pair were together in Atlanta.

Robinson met Adam Sandler and Matthew McConaughey on his official visits to USC and Texas and that had to impress the young recruit. However, the combination of the Buckeyes storied tradition, coaching staff and past success running backs have had should be enough to convince Robinson to pledge his allegiance to the Buckeyes.

If he does choose to play for the Buckeyes, this 2020 class could be the most dangerous we have seen in years. Jack Miller will have Paris Johnson, Luke Wypler, Grant Toutant and Jakob James up front. Julian Fleming, Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Gee Scott Jr will be at wide receiver and Bijan Robinson in the backfield.

You know the highly ranked quarterback is extremely happy with the big guys up front and the outstanding receivers to throw to in his class. He certainly would love to have a five-star running back to hand off to as well.

The class is already on the way to becoming an excellent one. According to ESPN, the Buckeyes 2020 class currently ranks #5 in the nation and #1 in the Big Ten.
