With summer finally here recruiting is heating up and there may be booms heard with players joining the 2020 and 2021 Ohio State classes.

There is quite a list of recruits visiting Ohio State this weekend and a possibility some could commit to the 2020 or 2021classes. One prized recruit is scheduled to announce his college choice this afternoon and most have him choosing to play for the Buckeyes.

Cornerback Clark Phillips is set make the announcement at 3 PM according to reports. Phillips is the 4th highest rated corner in the 247Sports Composite and the No. 46 player overall.

The Crystal Ball prediction is 100 percent Ohio State. He would certainly be a terrific addition to Ryan Day’s 2020 class, especially with it lacking defensive players.

As reported by Taylor Lehman of Eleven Warriors he will be coming to Columbus following his announcement, and of course that’s a great sign. Here are recruits Mr. Lehman listed in his article Phillips will be joining this weekend.

Mr. Lehman provided a lot of terrific info on these recruits in his article and I suggest you check it out.

I’m going to focus on the in-state recruits I’m more familiar with. And I want to begin with the DT from Cincinnati.

I’m hoping Darrion Henry chooses to play for Ohio State this weekend. It’s been widely reported he and his good friend, OT commit Parris Johnson Jr., would like to play their college ball together.

It would be great for Ryan Day to have both of these two in the fold.

It’s a bit shocking Joe Royer has yet to commit and I think he will soon.

Jayden Ballard is a strong Ohio State lean and A.J. Kirk is Mike Doss’ younger brother. They aren’t going somewhere else to play their college ball so I hope the end their recruiting process this weekend.

If Ben Christman would commit that would be a great get. Too many outstanding linemen from the Cincinnati area have slipped from the Buckeyes’ grasp over the years.

5 players on offense to watch this season. dark. Next

This should be an interesting weekend for Ryan Day. It would be nice if his ears are ringing from hearing booms before the recruits leave campus.
