2) Braxton Miller:

Everyone thought Ohio State football was doomed once the 2010 scandals came out. Jim Tressel would resign as head coach and Terrell Pryor withdrew from the University.

Pryor would head to the NFL Supplemental Draft making room for Braxton Miller, a true freshman from Wayne high school, to line up behind center.  As a Buckeye, Miller would pass for 5,295 yards and score 52 touchdowns. He would also rush for 3,315 yards (261 of those coming when he was wide receiver according to 247sports), while scoring 33 touchdowns on the ground.

Due to his Injury in 2014, he switched from quarterback to wide receiver. Miller was a third round pick by the Houston Texans and is now with the Philadelphia Eagles.

1) Troy Smith:

One player stands out to me as the top Ohio State quarterback of all time, and that is none other than Troy Smith.  He is the only Buckeye quarterback to win the Heisman Trophy in the modern era.

More from Ohio State Football

Smith had a few big games early in his career, especially in an upset victory over Michigan 37-21.  Then in 2006, he led Ohio State to a 12-1 season, the only loss being to Florida 41-14 in the BCS National Championship.

Smith finished his career at Ohio State with 5,720 yards and 54 touchdowns. He was then drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 2007, but wouldn’t see much playing time as he sat behind Joe Flacco.

He also played for the San Francisco 49ers and the Pittsburgh Steelers.  It may not have been a great NFL Career, but man was Troy Smith something to watch in college. And because of that, he is my number one pick!
