Ohio State Football: Teams the Buckeyes should watch out for in 2019.
By Ian O’Brien
2) Penn State
When Ohio State has faced Penn State the last few seasons it often has been an entertaining game and sometimes a nail biter. In 2016, Penn State blocked a Tyler Durbin kick giving the Nittany Lions the win 24-21. In 2017 it was JT Barrett throwing to Marcus Baugh for a game winning touchdown with the final score being 39-38.
In 2018, it was Dwayne Haskins throwing a touchdown to KJ Hill. The defense would follow when Chase Young stopped running back Mark Allen in the backfield on a 4th and 5 and the Buckeyes defeated the Nittany Lions 27-26.
And who can forget Joey Bosa’s walk-off sack in 2014?
Anything can happen when these two teams meet and the Bucks will have to play smart and take their time. Even if it is in the Horseshoe, they cannot let the noise distract them.
Every play will have to matter. Now there is a difference here as both teams have new quarterbacks. Ohio State has Justin Fields while Penn State has Sean Clifford, a redshirt sophomore.
In the end, even though some things have changed it’s going to come down to a defensive stop and whoever scores last.
