Ohio State QB Justin Fields

After Baldwin’s departure, the former Georgia QB and #2 overall prospect in the 2018 class will be the starting quarterback for the Buckeyes when they kickoff against Lane Kiffin’s Florida Atlantic Owls. Buckeye Nation’s expectations for Ryan Day and Fields will be at an all time high after the tremendous success Dwayne Haskins had last season.

Fields will have big shoes to fill but the combination of Ryan Day and new offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich will give Fields all the necessary resources to be successful. Not to mention, he’ll have Haskins to lean on for advice as the two young talents have developed a relationship working out with quarterback trainer Quincy Avery.

Perhaps Fields doesn’t have as strong of an arm as Haskins, but his athleticism will provide a spark for the Buckeyes along with J.K. Dobbins, K.J. Hill, Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson and company.

Coach Ryan Day will have the Buckeyes off to a hot start this season and you can guarantee that he will have his team ready to take on Penn State and Michigan in the final two games of the season. That will solidify the Buckeyes as a College Football Playoff contender in his first season as the Buckeyes Head Coach.
