Malik Barrow was a four-star defensive tackle in the 2016 recruiting class whose Ohio State career never got off the ground due to injuries.

You always hate to see a young man battle injuries that keep him off the playing field and that has been the case for one Ohio State defensive tackle. Now Malik Barrow is working hard to get healthy so he can give football another shot.

Dan Hope of Eleven Warriors wrote about Barrow’s injury situation and how he is working hard to recover, hoping to play the game he loves once again. He also reported the DT is on pace to graduate this summer so he can transfer and play right away, and a few schools have shown interest.

Mr. Hope’s article is an excellent one and I suggest you check it out.

I for one am glad Barrow will have an opportunity to play elsewhere. Let’s face it, after missing so much time it would be difficult for him to move up in the depth chart in Larry Johnson’s loaded defensive tackle unit.

If he can completely heal from his injuries, a fresh start for another team that isn’t as deep would be the best case scenario for the young man. For situations like Barrow’s it’s difficult to complain too much about the transfer portal and the new rules.

Speaking of transfers. If you haven’t heard Matthew Baldwin is heading back to the Lone Star State to play for TCU. Possibly Baldwin just wanted to play closer to home which sometimes is the case.

Now the Buckeyes have three quarterbacks on the roster who transferred in and there are former Ohio State quarterbacks in three of the other four power conferences. Joe Burrow is at LSU (SEC), Tate Martell at Miami (ACC) and Baldwin in the Big 12.

Next. DE unit could be Larry Johnson’s best. dark

It’s the nature of the beast in college football now so expect to see plenty of players moving from team to team going forward, especially quarterbacks.
