Ohio State Football: If one player crashes draft party Buckeyes set record
The Ohio State Buckeyes will at least tie the record of first round NFL draft picks from one university tonight and could very well surpass it.
USC has had 81 first round NFL draft picks which is more than any other school but Ohio State will tie or surpass that mark tonight. The Trojans are two ahead at the moment but two Buckeyes are locks to be first round picks and any one of three others could crash the party.
Nick Bosa will be one of the first three picks in the draft. If he isn’t, expect general managers to be fired after passing on the Ohio State defensive end.
It looks like Dwayne Haskins may slide down in the draft because once again general managers are trying to out-think the room instead of going with the obvious choice. He won’t drop even close to the No. 33 pick though.
Now for three other Buckeyes who could possibly be first round picks.
Parris Campbell caught 90 passes for 1,063 yards and 12 touchdowns last season and then ran a 4.31 in the 40 at the NFL Combine. There may be a team that likes to use slot receivers who can gain yards after the catch and use his speed to stretch the field as well.
I’m thinking the New England Patriots may be a landing spot if another team doesn’t grab him before.
Terry McLaurin earned a trip to the Senior Bowl after averaging 20 yards per catch and scoring 11 touchdowns last season. He impressed pro scouts during practices with his route running and his ability to go get the ball.

After running 4.35 in the 40 at the NFL Combine some have speculated he could be a first round pick.
Dre’Mont Jones has also been projected to be a first round pick in at least one mock draft, but this year’s draft is loaded with outstanding defensive linemen. It will take a general manager who believes like I do that Jones could be a valuable player who could play either tackle or end.
He is a long shot to be a first round pick but don’t discount the possibility of hearing his name called tonight.
It’s certain at the end of the night Ohio State will at least be tied with USC for the most first round picks of any school. If Campbell, McLaurin and / or Jones crashes the party the Buckeyes will be the all-time leader.
