Ohio State Football: 3 April Fool jokes would have riled Jim Harbaugh
Jim Harbaugh may be susceptible to falling for April fool jokes. After all, he believed Michigan would have defeated Ohio State at least once by now.
Jim Harbaugh actually thought his team would have defeated Ohio State and made the College Football Playoff at least once during his first four years as Michigan’s head coach. If he believed that don’t you think he could be tricked on April Fool’s Day?
Just think how a prankster close to him could have had fun today. He might bite on anything.
Think about how coach Harbaugh would have reacted if he was convinced these things were true at the beginning of the day, and then after he found out they weren’t.
He certainly would have been on cloud nine with the first: An elite quarterback recruit is ready to commit because he thought he was a great fit to the Michigan offense. Coach Harbaugh has been looking for a guy like that since he returned to Ann Arbor.
He certainly would be depressed when he was told the truth though. The QB isn’t coming because he didn’t want to hand the ball off on first and second down and pass on third like Jim did when he played for Bo in the 1980s.
He would jump for joy on the second: The College Football Playoff would be expanded to 16 teams following the 2019 season.
Wouldn’t the Michigan head coach be ecstatic? After losing to Ohio State and not playing in the Big Ten Championship Game again his team would still have a chance of making the CFP. Again it would be a bummer when he found out he had to settle for a lesser bowl game again.
The last one could very well make Harbaugh nervous for quite some time: Sources close to Urban Meyer said he was coming back to coach Ohio State next season, for one game.
I have a feeling even after telling him it was just a joke, the Michigan head coach might be nervous until the opening kickoff November 30th.
What if he was convinced all three were true. His emotions would be going back and forth so often it would wear him out more than climbing trees trying to impress recruits.
Just a few thoughts about how those close to Michigan head coach could have had some fun today.

I for one try to steer of clear of such things, especially with my writing. I learned my lesson three years ago when I wrote that Urban Meyer was leaving for Cincinnati.
Boy did I hear it from Buckeye Nation.
At that time it was rumored the Bengals’ head coaching position may be coming open and that one of the two NFL jobs Urban said he would even consider. And I happened to write the article April 1st. What a mistake.
Even though I realized my error and let everybody know midway through the article I was talking about recruiting Cincinnati high school players, the damage was done.
After that I have always tried to be serious with my writing so as not to rub anybody the wrong way. Except of course when it comes to the team up north, their coach or a certain conference down south.
They give me so much material I can’t help myself.
Anyway, I hope all of you had a terrific April Fool’s Day, and had a little harmless fun at somebody’s expense.
